Despite having spent more than 20 years of my ripe, old age of 22 living in the South, I don’t consider myself very southern. Sure, I thrive in humidity and I do love mint juleps (and all the better when sitting on a nice, breezy porch). And while you will hear the world “y’all” come out of my mouth, I have no drawl to expose my origins, no debutante ball to reveal the inner Southern belle, whom I have yet to meet myself.
