Description:
Because the peak growing season takes place during the summer months while school is not in session, the Green Heart Project hosts a Summer Garden Program, inviting the most interested and motivated students to participate every Monday, Wednesday & Friday over the course of the summer. In addition to growing fruits and vegetables and getting dirty in the garden, students are provided with many unique opportunities such as participating in a culinary nutrition class where they prepare the produce they harvest from the garden, as well taking field trips to local farms, organizations, and beaches!
