LESSON CONTENT- In today’s lesson, join Garden Coordinator Rachel to learn about how to care and maintain tomato plants as they grow in your garden! Viewers will learn to:

Prevent disease through proper trimming
Trim axillary shoots (suckers) to ensure that buds, flowers and fruits receive maximum nutrients
Provide support for the tomato plant by tying it to a support using the “Tomato Hitch” knot

LESSON MATERIALS- For today’s lesson, you will need:

A digital device to watch today’s “How-To” video
Tomato plant
Scissors or shears
Twine or string to tie up tomatoes
A tomato stake (or other wooden stick, metal pole, etc.) to support tomato plant
