TODAY’S LESSON- SUMMER SPRITZERS
LESSON CONTENT- Join Garden Educator Allie to learn 3 easy and healthy flavored water recipes that will help you beat the heat as we head into the summer months! In today’s lesson, students will:
- Understand the importance of hydration and the health benefits of drinking enough water
- Identify healthy alternatives to sugary drinks like juice, sweet tea, soda and sports drinks
- Learn three easy recipes for flavored water recipes using fresh produce
- Brainstorm different fruits, vegetables and herbs that could be used to make flavored water recipes
MATERIALS- For today’s lesson, you will need:
- A digital device to watch instructional video
- Water or sparkling water
- Cup(s)
- Fruits, vegetables and herbs
- Knife and cutting board (if needed for fruit and vegetable prep)
