Spring into Action: Opportunities to Get Involved With Green Heart this Spring
If you’re anything like us, pollen season in the Lowcountry might have your throat, eyes, and nose feeling itchy. But if you’ve got a different kind of itch—the itch to get involved—this spring, we’ve got some opportunities for you:
🎶High Water Music Festival – 4/26 & 4/27
We’re still looking for a few volunteers to turnip the beet with us and work a beverage tent at this year’s event. What better way to spend a late April weekend in Charleston than by the water, enjoying this year’s lineup and helping raise money to directly fund our work! When you sign up for a 4-hour shift, you get free same day entry and a portion of proceeds from beverage sales + 100% of tips at our tents directly support Green Heart!
Our 15th Annual Harvest Dinner will celebrate what our students have accomplished in the garden during the school year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with good food, good fun, and great company! To make this event possible, we rely on community volunteers to help with important event logistics including set up, checking tickets, serving food, overseeing kids activities, and more. We ask you to be available 4-8pm, building in time for you to eat and enjoy the event as well. Interested? Fill out this form.
🌱 Garden Work Days – ongoing 🌱
Garden Volunteers commit to garden work days or special projects throughout the semester. You’ll help with tasks like cleaning up the garden space, weeding, refilling beds, planting, and more. This spring we have opportunities at both the Urban Farm at Enston Home and Mitchell Elementary, as we prepare for our Annual Harvest Dinner.
